Wash your hands and get the icing and palette knife ready.
Scoop a small amount of the icing out of the bowl with your palette knife and gently press it onto the surface of your cupcake.
Move the palette knife back and forth to spread the icing evenly over the cupcake.
Add chocolate bits or hundreds and thousands, whatever you like.
