Rice with Milk & Jam Recipe
1 ½ cup Sunwhite Calrose/medium grain rice, soaked and drained
2 liters milk
1 teaspoon vanilla powder
1 cup caster sugar
1 cup liquid crème
50 g mango jam (thick with pieces)
50 g strawberry jam (thick with pieces)
In a big pot over medium heat, add the milk and vanilla powder. Stir to combine.
Add the rice stirring the mix continuously.
Add the sugar. Stir to combine till the sugar dissolves.
When milk starts to boil, add the crème and stir to combine.
Reduce the heat and cook the rice with milk for 15-18 minutes stirring occasionally.
Turn off the heat and let it cool for a couple of minutes.
In single-serving dishes or cups, put a layer of the jam (mango or strawberry) in the bottom then top it with the rice with milk. Serve cold.
