Middle Eastern lamb meatballs recipe

 Middle Eastern lamb meatballs in a serving bowl

PREPARATION TIME: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

500 g lamb mince
2 tbsp Middle Eastern spice mix
1 small red onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 cloves garlic
1 egg
35 g (1/3 cup) packaged breadcrumbs
80 ml (1/3 cup) olive oil
Hummus and Toothpicks, to serve

Method

1. Place all ingredients except the oil in a large bowl and season to taste. Using your hands mix to combine. Roll heaped tablespoons of lamb mixture into balls. Heat half of the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook half of the balls, turning frequently, for 6½ minutes or until browned and cooked through. Drain on paper towel. Wipe out pan with kitchen paper and repeat with remaining oil and meatballs. Serve with hummus and toothpicks.
