Ghraybeh - Arabic Butter Cookies

Ghraybeh is one of the most delicious Syrian desserts. Its preparation is easy and delicate at the same time.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes approximately
Cooking Time: 20 minutes approximately
Serves: 6 persons

All you need

454 g butter
2 cups white flour
1 cup al alali Icing Sugar
1/2 tsp. al alali Baking Powder

Directions
  1. In a ball, Blend the butter with electric mixer creamy fluffy and white, gradually add al alali Icing Sugar, al alali Baking Powder, and continue blending until you have a soft and smooth dough
  2. Form the dough into small balls, place them apart on the baking tray to avoid sticking together while baking
  3. Place a pineseed on each ball for garnishing, bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15 to 20 minutes. Closely watch the ghraybeh to avoid color change. Set aside to cool
  4. Place in a serving plate
  5. Serve and enjoy!

      1 cup icing sugar = 125 gram
