Maqluba with Spaghetti

If you have a special occasion, invite your friends to taste the traditional Maqluba in an untraditional way!

Preparation Time: 15 minutes approximately
Cooking Time: 30 minutes approximately
Serves: 8 - 9 persons

All you need

2 large size eggplant, thickly sliced and washed
1 pack al alali Spaghetti no. 5 cooked and drained
350g minced meat
1onion medium size chopped
2-3 garlic cloves mashed
1 tbsp. al alali Tomato Paste
2 al alali Pasta Sauce
1 can al alali Peas & Carrots washed and drained
1 cup cheddar cheese grated
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. al alali Ground White Pepper
1/2 tsp. al alali Paprika
1/2 tsp. al alali Chili Powder
1/4 extra virgin olive oil
Vegetable oil for eggplant frying
Butter for greasing the mold

Directions
  • In a saucepan, heat the oil, fry the sliced eggplant until golden, drain and set aside
  • Mix al alali cooked Spaghetti with olive oil
  • In a pan, cook minced meat on low fire for few minutes; add onions, salt, garlic, al alali Tomato Paste and spices stirring constantly until cooked. Set aside
  • Add al alali Pasta Sauce, cheese and al alali Pease & Carrots
  • Grease the mold with butter, sprinkle bread crumbs
  • Place the sliced eggplant in the mold, add half the quantity of spaghetti, meat mixture and remaining spaghetti. Cover the mixture with more slices of eggplant. Bake in an oven at 180°C (350°F).
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes
  • Place the Makloba in a serving plate
  • Serve with green salad and enjoy!
Note: You can use the Cheese Cake mold
