Kofta Bi Tahini (kofta With Tahini) Recipe
This is an easy yet tasty dish to make. Baked ground beef or lamb and tender potatoes with a creamy tahini sauce will satisfy your hunger craving.
Ingredients:
For Kofta:
2 lbs (1 kg) lean meat
1 medium onion, quarterly chopped
3 garlic cloves
1/2 pinch parsley
1/4 pinch coriander
1 tbsp Lebanese 7 spice mix
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp oil
For Tahini Sauce:
1 tbsp oil
1 medium onion, sliced into rounds
1/2 cup tahini
1 cup yogurt
1 cup water
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Method
1 Preheat the oven to 355 F (180 ° C). Bring a wide oven dish.
2 Place the meat, onions, garlic, parsley, coriander in the grinder hopper using the finest disk. Switch on the grinder on medium speed.
3 Add spices and salt to the meat mixture and mix using your hands, then shape into medium sized meat balls.
4 In a large skillet, heat the oil, fry the pine nuts, set aside. Fry the kofta balls until golden.
5 Place the kofta balls in an oven dish
6 Sauce: In the same skillet add oil, onions, and stir until translucent.
7 In a deep dish, put the tahini, yogurt, water, lemon juice, salt, pepper and mix to get a liquid sauce. Add the sauce to the onion, then stir to mix with the onion. Pour sauce over kofta balls.
8 Bake in the oven for 20 minutes on 355 F (180 ° C).
9 Take the kofta out of the oven. Spread fried pine nuts and parsley. Serve with rice or pita bread.
